I am the oldest of 6 children by 7 years! My mom always said I was her legs and feet because she always sent me running for things she needed to care for my younger brother and sisters! That coupled with desperately wanting brothers and sisters birthed my fondness of children of all ages. I have a degree in Early Childhood from Villanova Junior College in Pa. I owed and directed a preschool for 8 years. I worked in the public school system with special needs children. I am blessed to have a grand-daughter who is a cancer survivor who has special needs. This is my 3rd year working with with an awesome team at Hope Ranch Learning Academy.
In my experience in teaching I found it is important to put yourself in the place of the students that you are teaching. I ask myself how they relate to the subject matter. Based on that I present the curriculum in an inviting, interesting way that I feel they will best relate to and is best for their learning style. I also encourage interaction and I use visual aids they can relate to.
What I like best about working at Hope Ranch Learning Academy is we teach a curriculum and provide an environment that relates to the whole person, mind, body and spirit. The small classes and teacher to student ratio enables us to get to know each student and their needs. It is an honor and a blessing to have the opportunity to teach and enhance each student’s life.
