Teaching Philosophy
I believe all students are unique and have the ability to learn, no matter what their learning challenges may be. They are capable of learning in an environment that allows them to feel safe to learn, explore, discuss and grow to their full potential. I believe that by building trust and respect, they will rise to the challenges presented each day. By finding their method for learning, whether it be visual, auditory or hands-on, I can teach each student and move them forward at their own pace, toward success. If one child can look back as an adult and remember that I allowed them to learn and grow, then I have fulfilled my mission as an educator. I believe the greatest gift I can give my students is to love and believe in them.

Teaching at Hope Ranch Learning Academy
I love teaching at Hope Youth Ranch because I feel each student has found their “home” in which to learn. My students come to school each day with a smile on their faces and ready to learn. They feel safe and comfortable to be who they are, and to be able to worship at school. They are excited for the riding days. Wanting to be with the horses is a great incentive for using their social skills and following the expectations set for them. Overall, I believe that teaching at Hope Youth Ranch has given me the ability to continue giving back, teaching those students I think have the greatest potential.
