“Lazy Leo” as the students have nicknamed him, is one of our most laid back and easy-going residents. His favorite hobby is definitely sleeping! Because of his calm nature, Leo is the often the horse chosen for timid riders who are still gaining their confidence. He can also challenge more advanced riders, who must really push in order to make him go faster. Before coming to Hope Youth Ranch, Leo was used for western disciplines and sorting cattle, which makes him a cowboy horse at heart. Because of his training, he is very sensitive to leg and seat aids and is very good at neck reining. He is a great choice for any students wanting to learn the western style of riding.
